There will be plenty of storylines for boxing fans to follow at the Agua Caliente Casino on July 23, thanks to an attractive fight card announced Friday.
There’s the first title shot for Cathedral City’s Adam Carrera and the comeback bout of Coachella’s Antonio Diaz.
Fans can get a taste of the future of boxing with the pro debut of Cathedral City’s Luis Cervantes and the second professional bout for Coachella’s Tomas Barragon.
The undercard includes one bout with an undefeated heavyweight and another with an undefeated female.
The boxers are all part of the Coachella Valley’s first fight card in a year.
The fights will be held in the Casino’s indoor venue, which can house1,500 people.
“We are getting things off in grand style,” said promoter Mark Liddy of MLF productions. “This is a tremendous card. With just one or two of these fighters, you’d have a great night. With all three, tickets will go very fast because this is a sure sellout.”
Carrera (14-1, 6 KOs) has won four consecutive bouts since a fluke loss in May of last year.
In a co-main event, former International super lightweight champion Antonio Diaz (39-5-1, 28 KOs) returns to the ring after a year-long layoff.
Barragon is a former standout amateur fighting out of the Coachella Valley Boxing Club.
The undercard will include undefeated female Melinda Cooper (11-0) and undefeated heavyweight Omran Awadi (11-0).
